Advanced Stacking — The Techniques the Casinos Never Caught

There’s a line from Episode 7 of Cheating at Blackjack that says everything about what made our operation work:
“This is not theory. This is the real work.”
Advanced stacking is exactly that. Not something we read in a book. Not something we theorized about in a back room. Something we developed, refined, and used night after night in real Las Vegas casinos — on real tables, under fire, in front of real pit bosses who never suspected a thing.
 
Beyond the Lay Stack
If you watched Episode 4 you already know the basics. The lay stack — working with the cards already on the table — was our bread and butter. Quick, reliable, and devastatingly effective.
Episode 7 takes it further.
Advanced stacking means creating your hand rather than just working with what’s on the table. And the first major upgrade is knowing the dealer’s up card before a single card is dealt.
Here’s how it works: the dealer’s up card always lands in a predictable position relative to your key cards. Once you know the in-between number — the IBN — you can read exactly where the dealer’s card will fall and factor it into your stack. If your agent is going to get a 19 and the dealer has a six showing, you’ve a very high chance of winning.
 
Knowing the Dealer’s Hole Card
The same formula extends one step further. Using the IBN, you can predict not just the dealer’s up card but their complete total — both cards simultaneously. This results in a 100% winning hand.
The example in Episode 7 makes it concrete. Three players at the table, IBN of 3, and with a single stack you know your agent gets a blackjack, the dealer gets a 17. Your agent has a 20 against a 17. From a psychological standpoint that’s actually stronger than a blackjack — blackjacks attract attention. A quiet 20 against a busting dealer is invisible.
 
The Mini Cooler
The most devastating technique in Episode 7 isn’t planned in advance. It happens when circumstances align — and when they do, you take full advantage.
The mini cooler builds itself on the fly. Three consecutive hands where the cards line up perfectly, the agent keeps doubling his bet, and $300 becomes $2,400 in three hands without a single deck switch or pre-arrangement. Random, unplanned, and completely undetectable. It is a strong as it gets.
 
Fishing
When nothing is working —  the lay stack isn’t there — you go fishing.
Fishing means scanning the deck during the shuffle for an ace. An ace gives your agent a 52% starting advantage before a single card hits the table. It’s not as powerful as a full stack but it’s something — and in a business where every edge matters, something beats nothing every time. And sometimes in a heads up game you can stack your agent a winning hand with the fishing method.
 
The Relative Play
The most creative concept in Episode 7 is the relative play.
Kaiser is winning big. Heat is building. So instead of pressing — we introduce a “relative.” A friend or associate walks up, pretends to be Kaiser’s buddy, and starts ribbing him for only betting $200. Then bets big himself.
All eyes shift to the newcomer. Kaiser’s winning hand happens quietly in the background. The casino watches the wrong person who they will never see again.
 
The Shorty Time — The Boss Who Taught Me to False Shuffle
Every episode ends with a humorous story from the era and Episode 7’s is one of the best yet.
A pit boss walks up to Dustin on a dead game and tells him he doesn’t know how to shuffle. Demonstrates the correct technique. Then asks Dustin to try.
Dustin proceeds to do two perfect push-through false shuffles — one of the most effective false shuffles in card cheating — right under the boss’s nose.
The boss’s response: “That’s the way to shuffle cards.”
 
The Magic Minute — Equivoque
