What you were watching was The Flash.

What The Flash Is

The Flash is exactly what it sounds like — a brief, almost imperceptible moment where the dealer exposes the top card of the deck to his agent. Done correctly it happens in plain sight, in under a second, with pit bosses standing just feet away.
What it gave the agent was extraordinary — 100% knowledge of his next hit card before he made a single playing decision. He would never bust with that card. He knew when to double down. He knew when to hit his stiffs against a weak upcard.
That is not an advantage. That is a certainty.

Why Nobody Caught It

The Flash was effective because it mimicked ordinary player behavior. The agent appeared to be looking at his two cards, but was actually seeing the Flash — his first hit card.
As the dealer gathered the completed hands, he exposed the top card of the deck while the agent was either placing a bet or withdrawing chips from the betting area — and again seeing the Flash. The agent’s line of sight remained consistent with expected player behavior at all times and did not draw scrutiny.
To anyone watching — pit boss, surveillance camera, or fellow player — it looked like nothing. Because it was designed to look like nothing.
